Mike Delaney’s extensive experience in the addiction field, both personally and professionally, have given him a rare insight into the needs of people who are struggling to cope with substance misuse.
Following a fully comprehensive assessment, Mike will identify the needs of the client and will recommend a course of action suitable to those needs. This may be a course of one-to-one sessions focusing on primary issues or may involve a combination of traditional therapies and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy if needed.
Clients will be guided and consulted at every stage and will be given the opportunity to make informed choices about their specific recovery path.
Should the need be identified, there will also be the option of referral into detoxification and residential treatment. Mike’s professional relationships with the leading providers of addiction therapy both in the UK and abroad will enable the most appropriate placements to be secured. If desired, Mike will continue to support clients through this process, re-engaging with the individual following residential treatment to ensure that their recovery remains on track.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Mike is one of Europe’s leading practitioners of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, an emerging treatment in which humans interact with horses in their natural environment as a tool for emotional growth and learning. It is a collaborative effort between a mental health professional / therapist, a horse professional and the patient. For more information, go to our Equine Assisted Psychotherapy page.
Each client will have an individual set of needs and his or her treatment(s) will be planned and costed accordingly during the assessment stage.
